I'm interested in the Sci-Fi companion, but less interterested the supers rules. I'd rather they did a companion for another sci-fi sub genre rather than sell yet another version of those rules. They're great, don't get me wrong, I have used them several times already, but I don't feel like I need a new version and would much rather see a companion for Cyberpunk, Time Travel, Transhuman, Post Apocalypse, etc.

But yeah, the Sci-Fi companion looks good. It deals mostly with space and space opera type stuff. Hand-waving isn't much a system. Now on the other hand I understand that a Shadowrun-esque system wouldn't be fast, furious and fun (none of those three, actually). But I'm sure a GM could think of a middle ground between a complex system such as SR and a single, boring die roll. Heck, even Daring Talesd of the Sprawl's lackluster hacking is better than this. Also, I have to give it to them that Hacking in a near-future, cyberpunk setting (with much powerful but still similar computers vs.

Modern-day ones) and sci-fi settings a few millenia away (using, say, quantum computers) would/should not have the same flavor. My point is more of the following, for a book like Savage Worlds Deluxe Explorer Edition that can be bought at 10$ in your LFGS, you can buy it a the SAME price for a PDF.

Unless PEG is selling the physical book version at loss, the PDF version is clerly over priced. Based on the fact that the LFGS want to make profits out of the sell and that the reseller that usually server as a third party between the LFGS and Peg for instance, I think it's ok to assume that PEG let the book go for 5$ to the reseller per book, and that probably the book cost something like 2.5$ to produce and that PEG finnally make 2.5$ of profits (yeah I know those number are from the top of my hat, but even if they are wrong, the principle is still ok) So for respect for the customers, they should sell the PDF at 3$ for covering cost of the bandwitdh and the web site that host it. That's why I found that PDFs are way to expensive.
