Acoustic & Electric Guitar for Youth (Ages 6-17) Does your child want to learn how to play the guitar? In this group class they will learn how to play the guitar the smart way. Young musicians will learn chords and easy music theory to better understand how a song works.

The possibilities are endless when music is understood at a fundamental level. Students should bring a guitar and their desire to learn and they’ll be playing songs in just a few weeks. Instruction provided by Giovani Reyes of StringTheory6 LLC. Basketball: Skills, Drills & Training (Ages 10-12, Grades 4-6) Dribble, pass, shoot, score with TX Youth Sports! Young athletes will learn to dream big and love basketball while improving their skills and abilities.

Breakdancing 101 (Ages 10-14) Breakdancing is the most athletic and acrobatic branch of hip-hop dance. Young dancers will learn the value of hard work, determination, commitment and repetition through positive reinforcement and fun filled challenges. Classes will incorporate a fun, safe and efficient pathway to learning breakdancing starting with basic hip-hop dance moves then transition to more challenging breakdancing concepts under the instruction of Onsite Youth Training instructors. Young dancers will end each semester with a mini performance to display their newly acquired skills.

Expressive Movement for Toddlers (Ages 2-3) Toddlers and pre-schoolers will enjoy exploring expressive and artistic movements in this introductory dance class. Curriculum includes a combination of pre-ballet basic dance movements using visual arts, props and story-telling dance themes along with entertaining and inspiring children’s dance music. Ballet shoes are required for this class.

Girls may wear a black leotard, pink tights and hair up in a neat bun. Boys may wear a white t-shirt and black dance shorts. Instruction provided by Cynergy Dance Savvy Artistry. Family Fairy Gardening (Ages 5-12) Grownups grab your little ones (ages 5-12) and bring them to an afternoon of fairy gardening! Adults and kids alike will have fun choosing their container, picking their plants and fairies and customizing their fairy gardens by using their imagination. Bring your own container (10x10x4 is best) or purchase one from the instructor and come prepared to get a little dirty! A $30 supply fee, payable to the instructor at the beginning of class, covers all materials for your fairy garden.

Tuition and supply fee is for one fairy garden. Marianne Rodriguez owns Whimsical Fairy Gardens and has been gardening for over 20 years. From Student to the Workplace (Ages 14+) Transitioning from student to the workplace can be difficult for some young people. This course teaches young people the do’s and don’ts of completing job applications, resumes, interviewing and more. Instructor William (Bill) Kanyusik, will teach on how to get the job and then focus on how to be effective in their job and in life. The Lominger competencies to include communication, judgement, initiative, collaboration, problem solving and more will also be discussed.

Mommy & Me Tumbling (Ages 18 months-4) Bring your little one and join Athletes Global in tumbling adventures!

Classes will focus on gross motor skills, balance exercises and rotations, body control, flexibility, hand-eye coordination and more. This program will help little ones develop self-confidence, learn body awareness and develop a life-long love of being active.

Our goal is to get kids moving in fun ways using their own body weight as well as doing fun exercises involving all basic motor functions with their parent support! Registration is for one parent and one child. Movin' & Groovin' Dance Class Medley (Ages 4-5) Your young dancer will move and groove as they learn a variety of dance skills, exercises, activities, rhythm and creative movements. Cynergy Dance Savvy Artistry's trained instructors will highlight dance skills for each of the selected genres to include: Sing Along and Dance Musical Theatre; Ballet Basics with Creative Movement; Jazz Basics with a Twist; Hip Hop and Tumble Dance; Playful Prop Dances; and Terrific Toe Tapping and Hand Clapping Basics.

Girls may wear a black leotard, pink tights and ballet shoes. Boys may wear a white short-sleeve shirt, black dance shorts and ballet shoes. Tap shoes are optional. PSAT/SAT Seminar (Grades 9-11) Doorway to College Foundation presents a five-hour seminar which will allow students to become more familiar with the PSAT/SAT while providing an opportunity to improve their scores. Although time and effort spent working on materials covered in class is a factor, experience shows that this seminar is effective! Students who take this seminar achieve an average score increase of 5 to 20 points on the PSAT and 50 to 200 points on the SAT. Robotics Basics with JJ the Robot® (Ages 7-12) Robotics Clubs USA presents an introduction to robotics and the cyber world! Young engineers will dive into robotics, EV3® programming and basic programming logic, all set in a competitive and cooperative learning environment. Students will work with JJ the Robot® (Lego® MindStorm®) in building and solving problems while conducting mission-based projects. Students will work cooperatively with other students and share their ideas all while having FUN! Snapology: Fidget Spinners Galore!

(Ages 5-12) Fidget spinners are both fun and mesmerizing, which explains why they have become a must-have item for kids! Students will learn all about center bearings as they are challenged to create their own versions of this popular toy using LEGO® bricks. After mastering the basic build, students will foster their creative design skills to create an even more advanced version of the basic spinner build.

Trial and error, modification skills and problem solving will be challenged as students explore the engineering process. A Snapology instructor will also guide a discussion on fidget spinner etiquette and the implications of using fidget spinners at inappropriate times. Students will take home a Snapology mini-figure. Snapology: Minecraft® (Ages 5-12) Watch out for those Minecraft® Creepers!

Students will bring Minecraft® to life as they travel to the Nether with Snapology. Using LEGO® bricks, students will create their own world that includes animals, Creepers and their very own Minecraft® character. Fostering creativity, building upon presentation skills and practicing teamwork will be incorporated as students have fun building, learning and playing with Snapology!

Students will take home a Snapology mini-figure. Soccer: Skills, Drills & Training (Ages 10-12, Grades 4-6) Get ready to have a kickin’ fun time with TX Youth Sports!

Working in small groups and individually, students will become skilled soccer players as they learn the essentials including, but not limited to: passing, receiving, using space effectively, ball control, scoring, defense, fitness and fun. Students should wear shin guards as well as bring a soccer ball and a personal water bottle to each class. Training will take place in an air-conditioned gym. Soccer: Skills, Drills & Training (Ages 5-9, Grades K-3) Get ready to have a kickin’ fun time with TX Youth Sports!

Stop Motion Movie Magic (Ages 8-14) Turn dreams into reality using stop-motion animation and digital post-production editing to create short movies. This introductory class teaches students the basics of incorporating special effects, enabling them to experience the overall movie making adventure. The students will create multiple films that could include: brick films (aka LEGO® movies), pixilation, object animation, graphic animation or claymation.

Students should bring a flashdrive to take their movie home. Instruction provided by Bits, Bytes, & Bots of San Antonio.

Join Doorway to College Foundation in learning powerful techniques to make studying effective, efficient and even fun. In this class, students will learn helpful tips to understand their learning style, minimize distractions, set realistic and achievable goals, get organized, take effective notes, build a strong vocabulary, read for comprehension and more!

Created by Zumba® and BabyFirst™, Zumbini® combines music, dance and educational tools for 45 minutes of can't-stop, won't-stop bonding, learning and fun for children ages 0-4 with their caregiver! Come sing, dance and play instruments with your little one and certified Zumbini® instructor Sara Hersh. Enrollment includes a Zumbini® Bundle ($35 value) with a songbook, Hilli doll, a CD of Zumbini® original music and a code to download the music to your phone. The class pairs beautifully with a television program that airs on BabyFirst™ several times a day.
